I’m Ethan. I’ve been exclusively shooting film since 2018.

Over that time, I’ve accumulated close to 3500 combined photos on color negative, color positive, and B&W film. My work is primarily focused on nature and landscapes. I love our National Parks and other public lands and it’s always my goal to show these beautiful places in the grandest way possible! Shooting on film is a big part of this process for me.

More on Myself

Who Am I?

I’m currently living in Northern Idaho. This area and its climate have molded me into a coffee drinking, indie/alternative music fan who’s rarely seen without a sweatshirt on. Above all else, I am a lover of photography.

The Beginning

At the age of fourteen, I bought an old Pentax 35mm camera at a thrift store. Having no clue if it even worked, I brought it with me on a trip to southern Utah. The photos from that trip were a success and I fell in love with the magical, tactile process of shooting film.

Why Film?

In the age of digital, film just feels right to me. Loading the camera, manually adjusting all of your settings, and advancing the film with each shot drives home the fact that you are making every photo you take.

Recent Endeavors

In May of this year, I started an online print store featuring photos I’ve taken all over the US! In October, I made a huge goal of mine into a reality when I released a photo book centered around the Pacific Northwest, titled “The Upper Left”.
